When I was younger going without seemed just darn cruel. I couldn't understand why I couldn't have something that I wanted. I couldn't wrap my itty bitty mind around the reason why my grandma denied me the luxury of cable.
If my grandmother were still living we could have a good laugh at the fact that I persuaded my husband to get rid of the cable. Back then I thought that all the cool kids got to go home from school and watch videos while I had to go home and enjoy my share of ETV, Power Rangers, and Guiding Light.
Today I could care less about the cable box. I could really care less about the $100 a month that we were paying either. See I have grown up and learned that my life definitely does not revolve around that box. Even better if I want to watch videos they made this super new cool invention called YouTube that allows me to watch whatever freakin videos I want!
So I have made peace with sacrificing little things because I truly have all I need. Getting creative and using a Roku box with streaming HuluPlus and Netflix saves us $84 a month!
So what do you have your sweaty knuckles gripped around? I'm pretty sure you can make peace with not having it anymore, don't you think?

I am still having a hard time believing that I've convinced my husband to get rid of our cable! We were paying waaaay too much for him to be hitting up the $5 bin at Walmart and buying bootlegs too. There was no point in paying for cable if he'd already watched the movie by the time it made it to cable tv!
As for me, I have made peace with not having a lot of things a long time ago. I'm the oldest of 6 children so I know what sacrifice is! lol
